And just like that - SPRING is in the air! We have had some crazy weather episodes but I am so ready for spring to get here with its warm weather, flowers, and general happiness for everyone!
How are you celebrating spring? Well as I have stated before, I love planting ALL THE THINGS! But I also love the annual Keep America Beautiful campaign of The Great American Clean Up held the first day of Spring through the first day of Summer in June. You can register on their website to find a community clean-up nearest you OR you can register as a volunteer and log your own hours.
If you are a water person, participate in water clean up while paddle boarding, surfing, fishing, or swimming. There is a great organization that devotes everything to the waters of the world. Check out 4Ocean today and your help can help them clean up the water from the trash. You can volunteer or donate.
Start a garden! Who doesn't love the idea of walking out to your backyard to pick produce or herbs that you can use right in your own kitchen? We have an aero garden and I love it! This Spring I'm planning on planting a small fruit tree yet to be determined! If you live in an apartment, aero gardens are great, but also look into a local community garden. Those are growing in popularity in larger cities.
And as always, renew your commitment to being a superhero for our planet. Stay with the refusing single-use plastics and bring your reusable items. Make a goal to reduce your waste through recycling and making smarter consumer decisions. Remember that our job is to preserve the natural resources we have for the next generations to come.
